                                   Audition Monologues

notice: we will be posting a wonderful collection

of free audition monologues for use very soon.

Audition monologues are the initial and most important act in the pursuance of a career be it in theatre, television, motion pictures, or the corporate world.  The opening and closing statements of any attorney, his or her gestures, assertiveness, and bearing must manifest itself in a monologue or a duologue.  Your voice and persona must create an emotional reaction in audition monologues.

You can download WAV and MP3 files on demonstration speech pages.  In the depictions, I endeavor to illustrate different methods of actually delivering audition monologues and a dualogue (two or more characters).  This establishes your diversity and public speaking techniques, in that you are capable of asking yourself questions and answering them. For a voice-over audition, it illustrates her ability as a depicter.  In audition monologues, it shows diversity.

For a corporate officer of any level, the ability to deliver a successful, possibly piquant, provocative presentation is the hinge pin of a successful corporate career.  In essence, the corporate officer is auditioning, and the understanding and ability to deliver audition monologues in three minutes or less allows the audience a chance to weigh the merits of what you say.  You must achieve an emotional reaction.

As a voice-over director (audio director) and voice actor, I have relied on audition monologues to promote my talents for over 30 years.  Facilitating my employment in over 300 network T.V. shows, including 142 episodes of McHale’s Navy and as the main audio director of Voice-Masters for over 15 years.  My main method of casting was through audition monologues delivered by reel, CD, video, or in person.  At times when casting voice-over jobs, I would record demonstration speeches on WAV or MP3 files as they are easy to submit to clients.  Carefully review my audition monologues offered for sale at the Voice Store.

As a member of the Screen Actors Guild (S.A.G.) and as a signatory producer and contractor with American Federation of Radio and Television Artists (A.F.T.R.A.), I have almost always worked with union actors.  Their ability to exhibit their talent via audition monologues was the key to successfully achieving voice-over jobs for virtual reality assignments, games, commercials, and any form of multimedia for the politician, lawyer, business executive, in speaking to an audience in any form, audition monologues are the key to a successful outcome.

I believe I created two very noteworthy examples of audition monologues and voice acting in two of the acknowledged classics of the Twilight Zone:  “The Eye of the Beholder” and “Trade Inns”, which are available on CD.  Incidentally, the late Rod Serling told me that these shows were among his favorite episodes.  (See “Edson Stroll” on this website if you wish to order personally signed photos on limited edition CDs.)

Please note that every aspect of this website, all the diversified segments, are connected and tremendously important to achieving success, and it all starts with acquiring the ability to energize an audience with  audition monologues.

Remember, you are not talking to yourself, as the audience is your partner.  This means creating something alive and from within.  See the Voice Store.
