                               Persuasive Speech

One must always be aware that what may seem important to you, may be irrelevant to your audience. Therefore, if you believe your audience should listen to your presentation, your “persuasive speech” should include many important elements, such as an effective delivery system and an acceptable message.  It is of vital importance that persuasive speech should always convey usable and viable information to your receivers. They should perceive they are receiving information that is accurate, moving and vital to them.

In acting and history, there is no shortage of persuasive speech. Think of Mark Antony’s great speech, “Friends, Romans, and Countrymen” in Julius Caesar.  Or Willie Loman’s speech to his boss “Howard” in “Death of a Salesman.”  Abraham Lincoln, “A House Divided” and “The Gettysburg Address.”  There are some examples of persuasive speech in the CD “Hop Frog,” which is available at the Voice Store.

I would like to have you acquire some of my examples of persuasive speech topics and my annotations on how to better your communication skills, and enhance your ability to have your receivers accept the validity of your viewpoint.  Unfortunately, not many of us are monumental statements or orators with skills so great and words so wonderful they will wind up in history books.  Leave the high-handed phrases to speechwriters.

You must direct your persuasive speech to your audience.  We must assume that you know your subject or you wouldn’t be trying to persuade someone else to accept your point of view.  The point is to rehearse possible questions that you may encounter from an audience and practice answering them.  Remember, credibility is a major part of your goal.

Persuasive speech must have many original statements and ideas.  Do not allow yourself to simply become a message manipulator.  Respect the capabilities of your audience and people will believe you when the facts change.  Fiery audio storytelling is the core of persuasive speech and are available at the Voice Store.  We will be continually adding to our demonstration materials and limited edition personalized CDs available at the Voice Store.
